Havemos de Voltar is the title of a poem by Agostinho Neto, the first president of Angola. The poem symbolises the return of Angolan lost sons, exiles, loved ones and freedom fighters to their homeland, to liberty and the redistribution of resources. The film follows the story and ultimate escape of a stuffed giant sable antelope housed in the Luanda Archive Centre. Embodying the opposing discourses of the colonial-era, the antelope harbours a visible anxiety when trying to reclaim her freedom and facing wealthy foreigners who want to buy her as decoration for a nightclub.
